Enterprise Role Overview

Translates business strategy into work programs and processes. Directs lower-level managers or team leaders or directly manages a specialty function. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of an IT environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives. Participates with IT management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area. Serves as a single point of contact and the escalation point between the client/business area and internal IT management for the resolution of unresolved problems, complaints and complex service requests. Provides the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the IT service delivery process. Associates in this job code must manage people.

Position Description

Transformation Coach works with leaders and teams providing guidance around developing value-driven culture and standard lean agile practices/processes. As a subject matter expert, assists portfolio leads in providing direction and guidance during the lean agile transformation process. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the lean agile framework, development guardrails and culture to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the portfolio. Provides feedback and guidance to transformation leads and managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Typically requires 5-7 years of Lean Agile and/or applicable coaching experience.


The Transformation Coach is an Individual Contributor that coordinates and coaches teams within the framework of agile methodology specific to Scrum, Lean and Kanban

·Provides knowledge and expertise around Lean Agile processes while coaching key roles in the organization to be self-sufficient in day-to-day operations and practices

·Partners with key stakeholders and senior leadership in constructing the foundation necessary for transforming from a waterfall or partial scrum framework to a Lean Agile SDLC

·Monitors and nurtures a team environment focused on successful product delivery and continuous improvement while helping build a workplace that people are excited to be a part of, where success is celebrated and gratitude is freely given

·Generates enthusiasm amongst team members for trying new approaches and techniques

·Partners closely with Portfolio Leads, Product Management, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters to establish lean agile routines and practices that include but are not limited to: Kanban management, Scaled Agile Value Stream Mapping, Train Program Increment planning and execution as well as insight into Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, DevOps and automation

·Facilitates training and empowers resources to teach others (train the trainer) in basic Agile, Story Writing, Scaled Agile, TDD, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications

·Working knowledge of Lean Agile SDLC processes and deliverables

·Ability to lead discussions with Agile Transformation Leads on relevant Agile topics

·Working knowledge of Quality Center/ Application Lifecycle Management

·Working knowledge of Agile Central (Rally) and JIRA

· 7+ years’ experience in technology and working in an agile environment

·Experience with building and growing cross-functional teams

·Experience in coaching and delivering training within the agile framework (portfolio, program, and team)

·Experience in coaching and the facilitation of core agile practices including but not limited to

o Kanban

o Value stream mapping

o Feature and story backlog prioritization and grooming

o Release planning (Program Increment)

o Iteration/Sprint planning

o Metrics (at all levels)

o Story distribution practices, including estimation

o Agile ceremonies (Scaled agile – at all levels)

· Excellent interpersonal skills; solid verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to influence leaders at all levels within the enterprise

· Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) preferred in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred

Desired Skills and Qualifications

· Agile coach certified or PMI-ACP (PMI Agile Certified Practitioner)

· Scaled Agile coach certified (SPC4)

· Value stream mapping
