Leidos BIP Systems Analyst I in AUSTIN, Texas


Systems Made Simple, a Leidos Company, is seeking a BIP Systems Analyst I, contingent upon contract award, in Austin, TX, Clearwater, FL or Vienna, VA.

The candidate will provide analytical support for the Benefits Integration Platform (BIP). BIP is an initiative for the reduction of the technology footprint supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA), through the expansion and reuse of the Veterans Benefits Management System’s (VBMS) platform.

The candidate will ensure business, system, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for integrated data exchange are met, for configuration, disaster recovery, business continuity, integration, testing, installation, implementation, help desk support, training, documentation, and maintenance, through traceability and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to meet Service-Level Agreements (SLAs), throughout the Agile Software Development Cycle (ASDC).

The candidate will identify system users, define user roles, system usage/behavioral patterns, main navigation paths, create User Interface (UI) mockups with users/system interactions to bridge data to updated platform from legacy applications, while coordinating with the Enterprise, Business, Data, and Technology Architecture Teams and legacy applications.

The candidate will ensure the functional integrity of existing applications is maintained and the end-to-end data flow meets user’s needs, assist in impact analysis, dependency coordination, and change management within and across lines, in support of iterative test-driven development and consistent delivery of prioritized scope within and across releases.

The candidate will participate in release/sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, and submit required artifacts, in addition to performing unit, systems, and integrated systems testing (IST).

The candidate must have several years of experience in system integration, architecture, infrastructure components, and product methodologies.


Required Skills:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciple.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience. Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience with large-scale projects, with cross-functional development teams, subcontractors, and support personnel.

· Excellent relationship building skills and sound interpersonal skills, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

  • Proficient user of Rational Tools, MS Visio, and the MS Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

· Knowledge of, and preferably experienced with Agile/SCRUM methodology.

· Knowledge of VBMS, NCA, and/or VBA technology platforms.
