Job Description

Want to join a great team? We’re looking for a passionate, seasoned communications professional with experience leading corporate communications in a fast-paced, diverse workplace. This leader plans and executes creative external and internal communications and programs that engage, align, and inspire the workforce around our values, vision, and priorities. This innovative individual will have a great sense of humor and thrive in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven, and creative environment. Candidates should have extensive storytelling experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to manage a complex range of initiatives across the organization. This role will oversee all communications for the North American Operation (NAO), work closely with all levels within the organization and implement global initiatives. Ready?

What you’ll do

  • Lead all aspects of external and internal communications.

  • Provide strategic counsel to senior executives and develop messaging and presentations for company updates, key initiatives, industry issues, and other topics.

  • Directly manage external agency partners to ensure consistent, effective messaging, with a focus on maximizing brand awareness & ROI.

  • Develop strategic partner with IT to identify, leverage, and integrate technology that will increase the effectiveness and timeliness of all communications.

  • Develop partnership with HR; promoting programs and initiatives as needed.

  • Own project plan and execution of numerous large-scale initiatives.

  • Lead external and internal communications for key corporate projects such as product launches and acquisitions.

  • Support Employee Programs, focused on creating a positive and fun experience for employees across the NAO organization, including numerous large-scale events.

  • Roll up your sleeves to work hands-on with the team writing, editing, and distributing a variety of different communication materials on a variety of traditional and digital platforms.

  • Cultivate a “voice” across all communications, leveraging humor and fun to engage and inform – working closely with Marketing to ensure a consistent brand experience.

  • Stay on top of industry trends identifying ways to reach a diverse and rapidly growing workforce, including promoting a two-way dialogue.

  • Use social media strategies and tactics to reach targeted audiences.

Job Requirements

Experience leading corporate communications in a global technology company. Background within an organization that is highly matrixed, offering the ability and interest in working with all levels.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • A strategic thinker - you will be able to absorb high level concepts and translate them into digestible stories

  • A relationship builder - you are in it for the long-term and act collaboratively

  • A driver – you will know how to get things done, overcomes obstacles, and quickly shift priorities to mitigate day-to-day communication issues

  • Experience in digital media and skilled at using all communications channels – from traditional to new, emerging and social platforms – to shape a compelling narrative and reach and connect with multiple audiences.

  • Has a record of developing broad relationships with influencers within high-impact networks and communities.

  • Has a proven ability to execute communications strategies that drive the business and meet financial objectives. Is both a team player and team builder who can excel in a fast-paced environment where excellence is rewarded.

  • Brings an innate understanding of entrepreneurial/technology business culture, a creative spark and fresh thinking.

  • Is an upbeat, charismatic executive, possessing very strong communications and interpersonal skills. Is performance and deadline-driven, balancing a strong strategic vision with an ability to master and execute the details.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Business or related discipline.

  • MBA Preferred

  • 12+ years' experience in external and internal communications

  • Experience leading corporate communications in a global technology or business-to-business company

  • Effective communicator, analytical, resourceful, creative, team oriented

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including creative approaches to communications platforms

  • Substantial experience in successfully taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated project management expertise is required

  • Issues/crisis management and HR communications experience are assets

  • High proficiency with all MS office applications and other relevant tools for effective communications programs

  • Graphic design capabilities strongly desired
