The Data Integration Senior Application Systems Analyst has the responsibility to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, and manage integration needs and skills to support the development of interfaces within the institution. This is accomplished by working closely with project stakeholders, customers, users and the vendors. The Data Integration Senior Application Systems Analyst will serve as the conduit between the business, information technology and vendors in gathering, documenting and developing functional Integration/ Interface requirements and specifications and then create the interface using the Cloverleaf integration engine to meet specifications. The Data Integration Senior Application Systems Analyst will be considered the subject matter experts on systems integration, and will lead the development decisions, implementation and modification of integration solutions that best meet user needs and comply with institution standards.
The Data Integration Senior Application Systems Analyst works with other Data Integration team members to provide primary and back-up support for all Integration applications. The DI Senior Application Systems Analyst may also provide technical expertise in the implementation of other integration solutions. The DI Senior Application Systems Analyst scope is limited to the interfacing technology and the high availability solutions we have in place. The integration scope addresses the application-to-applications requirements for sharing data, processes, and movement of data within the institution.

Analytical Ability/ Reasoning
Be an analytical thinker and problem solver, able to analyze and review interface specifications and be able to develop interfaces/ integration solutions, using interface engine technologies (e.g. Cloverleaf) and relevant languages (e.g. HL7/ Tcl scripting).
Planning and Organizing Skills
Experience with HL7 standards (ADT, Orders, Results, Charges/ Billing Integration) and knowledge of healthcare systems, and able to define and execute unit and systems tests for interfaces/ integration solutions.
Work with internal customers and external teams (partner application vendors) to bring Integration/ interface projects to successful completion
Knowledge of Data Communications Concepts
Have a strong knowledge of data communications concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, and SFTP).
Must have strong team working skills and the ability to work within a multi-discipline environment, meeting integration/ interface development timelines.
Technical Expertise/ Programming Knowledge
Individual needs a strong knowledge of scripting languages such as the KSH, Perl, Expect and TCL programming language
Communications Skills (Oral & Written) &Interpersonal Skills
Individual must have demonstrated excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and being able to work closely with internal and external customers. This person must have good conflict resolution, interviewing and listening skills.
Problem Solving Skills
Participate in the Data Integration Team’s on-call rotation. This includes maintaining and monitoring the existing runtime live interfaces and resolving downtime issues when they occur, by having an understanding and experience with troubleshooting Cloverleaf, Unix platforms, personal computer systems, networks, operating systems, applications, utilities, file structures, web technologies. Finally, provides onsite “go-live” support.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Five years experience in analysis/design/project management/programming. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Project management experience.
Experience implementing and supporting custom developed applications in a healthcare environment. Experience working in and a well-rounded knowledge of the MD Anderson IT environment
