The Lead Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing Business Objects application support and/or project leadership on moderate to complex projects in translating system requirements into technical design through development, testing, and implementation. The individual will work under minimal supervision; perform a wide spectrum of moderately difficult assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation and judgment; assumes some routine project-related administrative tasks and is periodically called upon to make un-reviewed decisions; and lead/coordinate activities of others. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leads the design, development and implementation of various application data into Business Objects Enterprise.
Administration of a complex clustered Business Objects Enterprise environment used heavily for distribution to external customers.
Administration of Apache Tomcat and IIS inside and outside the firewall.
Performs systems analysis for projects of major scope and various complexities to provide a means for solving technical and business-related reporting and data distribution problems/challenges.
Develops/documents application program logic and syntax from project design specifications or models.
Directs/leads teams using industry accepted project management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices throughout the project life cycle.
Leads and/or participates on company-wide projects for network, roll-out of software installations/upgrades for applications/operating systems, and/or performs system integration testing with project complexity determined by proficiency/expertise.
Assists manager in planning, designing, evaluating, implementing, and monitoring of various applications or systems.
Consults with customers to ascertain needs, identify problems, apply business expertise/technical knowledge to design, and/or create information solutions to ensure satisfaction with delivered services.
Provides operational support for existing systems, resolves problems, and restores system functionality.
Acquires and utilizes business knowledge by taking advantage of available resources (Internet, books, periodicals, classes/workshops, conferences, etc.) to develop and foster business expertise solutions.
Develops, fosters, and applies Information technology business technology expertise.
Provides technical training and mentoring to promote competency and growth.
Advises management in the development of short/long-term information technology strategies from both a technical and/or business perspective.
Prepares and presents project reports for management, client, and others.
Regularly called upon to interact with internal business users and IT co-workers with occasional interaction with external customers.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree from a 4 year accredited university, or 15 years of related industry or technical experience.
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or Management Information Systems (MIS) degree preferred.
7 years of experience in application administration of SAP Business Objects XI or higher required:
o Server software install
o Server Patch install
o Logging tickets/Work with SAP support team
o Customer Statement Distribution using publications
o Report and Universe development
o Ability to provide training to internal users
Experience with Apache Tomcat - Webserver Administration required.
Experience with Windows Server Administration required.
Experience with configuring security settings for (LDAP, Active Directory, Enterprise) required.
Experience with Data Warehouse and SSIS required.
Experience with database development and tuning (Oracle & SQL Server) required.
Experience with leading reporting and distribution projects from scope to deployment required.
Experience in the following is preferred:
o Project Management for Acquisitions and Divestitures
o Development using SAP Business Objects SDK
o Web application development and deployment using Java and Java Script
o Microsoft IIS-DMZ
o Visual Basic
o Trading applications (Ex:Openlink Endur)
o Midstream Accounting Applications (Ex: Quorum TIPS)
