U.S. Bank Sr. Linux Systems Engineer in Irving, Texas

U.S. Bank is seeking a Sr. Linux Systems Engineer with multiple operating system support and troubleshooting experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's server Linux operating systems. Installs new software releases and system upgrades. Installs, configures, and maintains all Linux servers. Schedules installations and upgrades. Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Monitors and fine-tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Conducts routine hardware and software audits. Provides recommendations for hardware and system software planning and budgeting. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. Installs patches and resolves software-related problems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with servers, hardware, and software. Troubleshoots networking and operating system problems.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

-At least 6 years’ experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of server security.

-Collaborate across teams on technology driven initiatives utilizing Ansible, Satellite and Jenkins running on Redhat / SuSE Platforms.

  • Collaborate with team to promote automation and develop consistent technical build, implementation and support processes.

  • Proven problem-solving and technical support skills

  • Extremely high accuracy and attention to detail.

-Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment.

-Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills in prioritizing and executing assigned tasks.

-Excellent oral and written communications skills.

-Must be able to work independently as well as work close in team environment when needed.

-Demonstrates a customer service approach to service delivery and effectively communicates with our customers on requests and incidents.

-Strong conflict resolution skills.

Extensive experience with:

  • Ansible

  • Cisco UCS C-Series Rack and Blade Servers.

  • Experience in UNIX shell, Perl, Python, or Ruby scripting

-GIT

  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite for centralized server management and patching strongly desired.
