PDS Tech Inc Commodity Specialist, Sr in Plano, Texas
PDS Tech, Inc is seeking a candidate for the Commodity Specialist, Sr. position located in Plano, TX.
This individual will support the enterprise strategic sourcing organization.
Primary responsibilities will be to support complex medium to large initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions, productivity improvements in the total cost of goods while maintaining or improving product by providing analytical support and documentation for the sourcing of long term agreements.
The individual should have proficient knowledge and experience in the strategic sourcing process, supporting analyses and the ability to help create and implement strategic commodity plans.
Strategic sourcing activity will include but is not limited to, generating and managing several simultaneous competitive sourcing processes, complex contract negotiations of high value, and limiting exposure to the Programs on high risk projects.
Support strategy development, manages Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
Leads analysis and supports negotiations, as required.
Supports cross-functional teams for strategic sourcing initiatives to drive system-wide standardization, cost reductions, service and quality excellence, knowledge transfer for replication of best practice, information technology development and assisting with local implementation of various activities.
Builds stakeholder team consensus to endorse sourcing strategies.
Develops, executes and communicates strategies in collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders on overall process, timing, and objectives.
Manages relationships to ensure internal customers and stakeholders are actively engaged.
Plans, manages and oversees the life cycle of complex medium and large sourcing projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of the strategic sourcing process, in-depth knowledge of assigned contract portfolio and demonstrated ability to provide complex financial analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or a clinical discipline and a minimum of 5 (five) years related experience in the Metal Products (Machining/Fabrication) commodity/category experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Master’s degree in appropriate business-related discipline preferred.
Appropriate technical certification (CQM, CPM, CPIM) desirable.
Understands Lean Manufacturing/Operations and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of both commercial & government contract laws and governing regulations with ability to work collaboratively with internal legal counsel for optimal souring solutions.
Experience developing and executing long terms sourcing agreements.
Demonstrated skills in all aspects of project management from initialization through completion by use of detailed work plans.
Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required.
Knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning application is preferred.
Ability to be a self-starter and independent worker, with the ability to manage priorities and manage own work, while achieving performance standards and work plan timing.
Ability to proactively identify and bring forth any potential issues and formulate viable solutions.
Ability to quickly gain a fact-based understanding of current supplier base and major trends in relevant markets.
