*Note: There is travel component involved however this role can be based from any location within 45-minutes of a major U.S airport.

Job Overview:

As a Lead Technical Consultant you will be filling the role of a strategic BI Lead for the Data practice that focuses on analytics within Perficient. For our Data practice, we are looking for someone who has the necessary technical expertise as well as adept understanding to for strategic business decisions. Work within this type of role requires you have a strong understanding of report development lifecycles including the understanding of requirements gathering, designing, and developing final solutions. In addition, we are looking for someone with a strong background in Agile Project Management, story-telling, prototyping, and sprint deployments. As part of the data team you will be engaged on a multitude of projects that require a certain level of expertise in having worked or worked with Data Analysts, and QA roles, excellent communication skills to interact with clients and lead developers, providing business support for deployed BI applications, and developing documentation when needed.

+ + Lead short-term & long-term BI projects and close them per customer expectations

  • Serve as a technical lead and strategist for all things Tableau and/or Power BI

  • Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases of an engagement: Scope Estimates, Develop & Testing, Management, Architecting, and Delivery

  • Prepare quick Tableau Desktops dashboards for Pre-Sales presentation

  • Acquire knowledge with all the offerings and become an expert in building Strategic BI Dashboard Platforms

  • Define, Develop, & Maintain reports in multiple reporting platforms including Tableau, Qlik, Power BI and SSRS, SAP Business Objects, Cognos, and OLAP SSAS Cubes

  • Prepare project timelines and deliverables for large Enterprise Data Warehouse & Data Lake projects

  • Work with Multi-Cloud and hybrid environments with a focus on AWS & Azure

  • Creating SQL Queries to provide ad-hoc reports, analysis, and datasets based on needs

  • Assist with testing and quality assurance activities with data extracts, research and analysis

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members.

  • Participate and lead in design sessions, demos and prototype sessions, testing and training workshops with business users and other IT associates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a secret clearance

  • VERY strong communication & client facing skills especially with business users

  • Strong working knowledge on SSRS, BO, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos

  • At least 5 Years of industry experience

  • At least a year of experience working with large projects in the cloud (Azure, AWS)

  • Recent project work on solving a complex BI problem with a BI tool

  • Strong acquired competence and experience working with Tableau Desktop, Server & Online

  • Strong working knowledge on SSRS, SAP BO, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, OLAP SSAS

  • Experience in building complex MS Excel solutions using Pivot Tables, DAX, M Query, etc.

  • Operations support experience with solid understanding of release, incident, & change management

  • Experience collecting, analyzing and documenting user requirements & closely working with business on prototyping

  • Demonstrated ability to tell a story using data & visualization

  • Experience in building and executing production migration plans

  • Strong understanding on Quality Assurance concepts including Unit Testing, Regression, and Black Box

  • Ability to learn and develop skills as needed to support services outside of this job description and prove with prior examples

  • Passion to provide a solid UX to non-technical users

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge on building and reporting to data governance team

  • A U.S. Citizen with a minimum of Security Clearance.

  • More than 2+ years of working knowledge with cloud hosted solutions like AWS, Azure, and Google Big Query

  • At least 5+ years of interaction and preferably working knowledge of ETL Tools like Informatica, DataStage, etc.

  • Experience working with huge BI practices such as top 10 large consulting firms

TECHNICAL LANDSCAPE:

  • Oracle & SQL experience (11gR2, MSFT SQL Server, PostgreSQL), and PL & T/SQL

  • Enterprise BI reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Qlik, SSRS, SSAS

  • Cross training market leading BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Prototyping with an ability to prove a solution in the interview

  • Erwin/Power Designer experience with Dimensional Modeling

  • Experience with JIRA, HP-ALM

  • Past experience working in a Data Analyst Role

Preferred Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5+ years relevant experience or equivalent.
