Job Description

The Senior Usability will perform the full range of user-centered design methods, present recommendations and provide guidance for optimum usability.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Under minimal or limited direction provides medium to complex usability, evaluation and support to product marketing and development teams for applications/systems, web pages, graphics, and multimedia:

  • Works with product teams to define user profiles for recruiting usability test participants

  • Develops test scenarios and conducts proactive (User-Centered Analysis and User Centered Design) and reactive (Usability) studies.

  • Identify user experience problems through proven evaluation and testing techniques.

  • Prepare and present final analysis and recommendation reports to customers, developers and/or marketing staff.

  • Champion and educate others on the benefits of a user-centered design strategy

  • May assist in developing design concept, providing input on user design considerations.

  • Promote Sabre‚Äôs common look and feel across all products

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE :

  • Contribute to the foundation of reliable and repeatable user experience and usability practices.

  • Creates and maintains internal Human Factors web pages.

  • Researches and documents usability best practices.

  • Educates internal and external clients about specific usability services and needs.

  • Performs usability activities at special events, such as quarterly usability/design meetings and World Usability Day.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Human Factors related field such as Human Computer Interaction, Computer Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology.

CERTIFICATION: CUA certification required within two years of start date. The company will pay for certification.

EXPERIENCE :

Must have:

  • Minimum 5 years related job experience

  • Experience in:

  • creating usability test plans and scripts

  • conducting various user research and usability studies

  • conducting heuristic evaluations and expert reviews of websites or product interfaces

  • writing usability reports and presenting usability results & findings

Preferred knowledge and experience:

  • mobile interface design guidelines and usability

  • usability testing of the mobile interfaces

  • usability testing tools like Morae, Silverback, UserZoom, and Optimal Workshop

Other Requirements:

  • Advanced computer software skills including Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio, and HTML

  • Strong analytical, written and communication skills.

  • Ability to collect great amounts information and distill into meaningful data.

  • Strong moderating skills.

  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
