Job Description

Position Summary

The Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) Team has an immediate opening for a Manager of Software Development. This new position is part of a large, distributed and tightly-knit team dedicated to implementing, enhancing and supporting the core services for Sabre Hospitality Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, testing, troubleshooting, identifying/remediating poor performing code and production support for our services suite

  • Oversee a growing team of 10 to 15 or more team leaders and individual contributors including developers, business analysts and QA engineers

  • Provide guidance to subordinates to achieve goals and objectives in accordance with established policies and departmental processes

  • Set performance objectives, monitoring performance against those objectives, mentoring and developing team members

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience managing development teams

  • Experience implementing Service Oriented Applications

  • Experience implementing WCF services (REST and SOAP)

  • Experience with OO design principals & patterns

  • Experience with automation testing

  • Familiarity with distributed architectures & messaging systems (WCF, MSMQ and PubSub)

  • Experience managing diverse technology teams and should have a working knowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Resourceful and innovative with the ability to quickly and creatively develop solutions to complex business problems, while also providing direction and leadership for the team

  • Experience in an agile development environment is a plus

  • Experience in Project Management concepts and principles is also desirable

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
