BAE Systems Logsitics Supervisor in Austin, Texas
Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organization
Direct and review work plan for assigned staff
Lead training, hiring, career development and enrichment of all Team members.
Head team to develop, articulate and maintain logistic process documentation.
Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of Inventory Management of Receiving Functions and Shipping functions
Develop and initiate weekly reports having required project timelines, business metrics and productivity measurements.
Support inventory management consisting of reconciling and maintaining of finished goods inventory
Establish and manage relations with Suppliers, 3d Party Logistics providers, and Freight Forwarders
Analyze and log purchase orders commensurate to existing stock availability and reduce shipping cost.
Oversee and monitor availability of stock to reduce shortages.
Ensure to process orders and on-time delivery by network of courier companies and warehouses.
Plan and arrange logistics required shipments.
Support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies.
Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to management.
Prepare and assist in audits
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Decision Making: logistics supervisors need good decision making skills to be able to consider the relative cost and benefits of potential actions to decide on the best one
Communication Skill: They should have excellent communication skill ( both written and verbal) to effectively negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and customers
System Evaluation: They should be able to identify measures or indicators of system performance that are relative to the goals of the system
Complex Problem Solving: They should have the ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solution.
Critical Thinking: They need to know how to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
