Job Description


Create and maintain search and configuration tools and related software solutions to aid scientific research.

Perform Web application design and development.

Implement and test procedures, modules and related code using best practices.

Support, update and enhance web applications.

Create and implement code documentation to support development and support.


Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development or related field of study plus 3 years of software development, systems engineering, information technology or related experience. Employer also accepts a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience as an equivalent alternative.

Must have experience or knowledge of:

Interactive scientific and e-commerce web solutions;

Web browser technology;

Client-server functionality;

Java technologies including Struts 2, Tiles, Spring, JDBC, Hibernate, JSP, JSTL, Tomcat;

Build tools like Ant and Maven;

CI Engines like Jenkins and Hudson;

Client side technologies like Javascript, Ajax, CSS, JSON, JQuery, HTML5;

RDBMS such as Oracle and MySQL;

Development tools like Eclipse IDE;

DB tools like SQL Developer;

Linux working knowledge;

Windows working knowledge;

Search Engines, and SEO; and

Agile Software Development environment like SCRUM.
