TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY Systems Analyst V (TSDS Analyst) in AUSTIN, Texas

The Texas Student Data System (TSDS) is the principal data collection system for the state of Texas public school system and includes products for state and federal data reporting requirements. This position will serve as a business product owner for one or more products of TSDS in the Information Technology Services-Business Management Division of the Texas Education Agency. This systems analyst will be responsible for representing the voice of the customer in strategic and tactical decisions for his or her assigned TSDS products. Decisions must adhere to the intent of TSDS and should seek to leverage processes related to other existing products where applicable. This position will perform highly complex computer systems analysis work and provide oversight and management of software development changes as a result of legislative mandates and end-user requests. Specific areas of responsibility include:Oversee the design and implementation of system changes Plan, analyze, develop, prioritize and test user requirements and ensure that resulting software is aligned to those requirements Provide expertise and product knowledge to the dedicated development, business analyst, testing, support, and training teams Participate in the development of training and support materials for assigned TSDS products Participate in the development of the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS) and provide communication and guidance with respect to the standard. Produce management-level reports and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a variety of settings and formats This position works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Works as part of the subject matter expert (SME) team with a dedicated lead and mentor. This system analyst may plan, assign and/or supervise the work of others and will perform related work and other duties as assigned.
