The Division 340B Analyst leads analysis and support of the ongoing daily operations and improvements to the 340B Program including split-billing (outpatient), contract and specialty pharmacy within a CHI Division. Works in collaboration with system, division and covered-entity personnel to assure an optimized and compliant program throughout CHI. The scope of this position may be limited to one division or may extend across multiple divisions depending on number of covered entities and complexities.

As a key member of the Division 340B Operations team, the Division Analyst actively participates in multiple simultaneous 340B Program work groups and implementation teams. The Division Analyst must identify division business needs, define division business requirements, assess options and create recommendations that align with the CHI-wide Program. They must have the ability to communicate the information to multiple audiences. The division analyst functions to optimize processes and procedures, resolve issues, and ensure consistency in the 340B Program across CHI and the division(s). This position must foster effective working relationships of 340B staff with business functions outside pharmacy including supply chain, finance, legal, compliance, IT/BI, and advocacy across multiple levels and their division as well as with vendors, wholesalers, and manufacturers.

In addition, this position actively contributes to CHI efforts to develop reporting methods to assess and monitor the benefits and opportunities for the CHI 340B Program at the covered-entity, division and CHI levels. The individual may be responsible for report design and distribution, consolidating and manipulating data, performing cost-benefit and trend analysis to continually improve the 340B Program.

The Division Analyst will be guided by the System 340B Operations Support Team with a direct reporting relationship to the Division 340B Program Manager and close working relationships with the System 340B Analysts, other Division Analysts, and their Division’s 340B Operations Teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting the ongoing daily operations of the Division(s) 340B Program’s efforts, in collaboration with system, division and covered-entity personnel. The role functions to analyze, evaluate information/options, and operationalize program improvements, expansions, implementations, and on-going maintenance of the 340B Program’s efforts across their division.

  • Conducts data analysis to determine root causes and feasibility of solution options. Analyzes 340B processes and mappings, identifies cost savings, and optimization opportunities, and compliance risks across their division. Strives to improve the quality, efficiency, profitability, consistency, and compliance at the division and covered-entity levels.

  • Participates in work groups and coordinates business operations analysis and improvements to assure successful outcomes for the division’s 340B Program efforts:

  • Communicates relevant information including analysis, options, risks, improvement recommendations.

  • Responsible for supporting quality and opportunity improvements as well as operational support.

  • Actively develops relationships with 340B stakeholders to ensure cooperation and team work to optimize scope, savings and compliance. Proactively promotes knowledge-sharing and recommendations to resolve issues, optimize improvements and ensure consistency across division and CHI.

  • Works with others to define and develop comprehensive, consistent 340B Program metrics, reporting and/or dashboards to support reporting for each covered entity and division and for CHI in aggregate. Tracks and monitors utilization, savings, problem areas, and quality discrepancies across division. Identifies root causes of adverse trends/issues and assesses options. Makes recommendations and works with director, managers, workgroups, system and division analysts, and cover-entities to implement solutions. Prepares presentations of findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, as needed.

  • Serves as 340B liaison in assisting participating and eligible hospitals in their division with implementation of software, improvements, and preparation for internal and external audits to effectively transition the CHI 340B Program’s efforts to a proactive, integrated successful program.

  • Maintains awareness of 340B regulatory guidance, policy/rule issues and changes, and potential program changes to assure a compliant program across CHI and division.

Qualifications

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); healthcare-related field, business management (finance, accounting), or information technology preferred; suitable work experience may substitute

  • Pharmacy background required

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Preferred

  • 340B Apexus Certification preferred

  • Eligible for any appropriate state registrations, certifications, or licenses needed for job

Experience (required and preferred):

  • 2 years broad pharmacy operations experience and 1 - 2 years pharmacy systems experience (required)

  • 1 - 2 years 340B integrated solutions experience required (e.g., PSG, Sentry, Macro Helix, Wellpartner)

  • Working knowledge of analytics; and knowledgeable regarding analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions (required)

  • Experience with multiple sites, eHRs or pharmacy systems preferred

  • Experience and knowledge of IT, Business Analysis, Quality, and Project Management industry standards, best practices and frameworks such as IIBA, PMI, and Six Sigma is preferred.
