CTG has an immediate opening for a Level 3 Desktop Support / IT System Analyst with our Public Sector client located in Northwest Houston, TX, for a 12 month W2 contract. Must be able to work onsite in the Fairbanks/Northwest Crossing area of Houston.
Performs responsible work related Desktop/System Support and Service Desk functions to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Maintains desktops, laptops, MS surface, ipad, printers, scanners, and other information technology systems (Local and Remote) as required to ensure efficiency, reliability and the overall satisfaction of the HCTRA customer.
Monitors incoming Cherwell tickets and provides technical support to users via phone, in person and by email.
Upgrades and installs new computers and repair / re-image existing computers on the Client's domain.
Assists with IT projects
Follow inventory protocols for tracking of all equipment.
Physically relocates equipment as necessary.
Create accounts for various applications.
Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues.
Participate in disaster recovery testing.
Assists in research of new technology.
Remains available around the clock as the first line of defense in addressing IT issues.
Assists as needed in the setup of all software installations.
Administering/Supporting and account setup for VPN connection for all remote users.
Attends meetings with management.
Assists in the development and review of training materials and details design documentation.
Represents the agency at technology related functions.
Managing and updating IP address for the Client.
Administer and maintain Rack Badge Access.
Manage setup user access to Wireless.
Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the rules of grammar and punctuation.
Knowledge of PC related software including but not limited to various operating systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair various hardware components including but not limited to servers and computers.
Advanced knowledge of research techniques and application’s configurations.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments for contractors.
Ability to select and provide appropriate information to others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Managing and updating IP address for the Client with the use of SolarWinds.
Administer and maintain Rack Badge Access in the datacenter using StruxureWare.
Using Visual Performance Manager to monitor latency on all backend devices.
Working knowledge in Cisco switches.
Working knowledge in Application Extender.
Working knowledge in Cisco CUIC, NICE, CM, Finesse
Working knowledge in Lansweeper data extraction and deploying monthly MS updates.
Working knowledge in Cherwell ticketing system.
Communicate effectively and be able to document new and revised processes.
Good communication skills on the phone and in person.
IT-related certifications desirable.
A two-year degree in a computer related field and four years of professional experience in network systems including but not limited to design, management and integration of network applications.
Professional or nonprofessional experience or certifications as described above can be substituted on a year-to-year basis for the required college education.
