Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Document Management Coordinator on the Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

MAPI provides program support related to strategic and tactical planning, engineering analysis, manifest development and hardware certification, safety and mission assurance, risk management, information technology, payload integration, program science and research. This includes support of mission and program integration and necessary infrastructure operations functions for the International Space Station (ISS). MAPI has the potential of supporting other NASA programs or projects via task orders.

The Document Management Coordinator will:

  • Support the Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) Documentation Management team and technical experts within the NASA ISS Mission Integration and Operations office to gather and document operations requirements, program planning activities, resource definitions and allocations to define mission objectives and flight definition required to maximize science conducted on ISS.

  • Provide support in the preparation, coordination, tracking and documentation change processing for the Increment Definition Requirements Document (IDRD), Post Increment Evaluation Report (PIER) and associated template blank books.

  • Gather requirements inputs for the Increment-specific planning data in the IDRD and post-flight performance data for the PIER, prepare coordination meeting packages, develop comment dispositions, record and track actions to closure.

  • Develop and coordinate change processing schedules.

  • Coordinate with the various ISS disciplines, including the interfacing with the International Partners, to resolve issues associated with the change.

  • Integrate inputs from technical experts, coordinating updates between submitters and reviewers, documenting resolutions and maintaining the technical consistency of the document.

  • Work with the Increment Management Team (IMT) to ensure the technical accuracy of documentation.

  • Perform Document Quality Assurance (DQA) to ensure documents meet the ISS Program's documentation standards.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of appropriate and progressive experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet critical schedule requirements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on technical writing, attention to detail and focus on quality products.

  • Proficient/expert in word processing, manipulating tables, developing spreadsheets, graphics and presentations.

  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment and under pressure on periodic quick turnaround assignments.

  • Periodic overtime and early morning telecon support may be required.

    Preferences:

  • International Space Station (ISS) experience with general knowledge of ISS Program organization, products and processes and ISS Program document configuration/data management processes.

  • Experience/knowledge of maintaining documents to ISS Program documentation standards (e.g. SSP 50010) and knowledge of ISS Change Request processes.

  • Exposure to databases is a plus, including DOORS/Cradle.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

  • Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
