CTG has an immediate opening for Level 1 IT Helpdesk Support with our Public Sector client located in North West Houston, TX, for a 12 month W2 contract. Must be able to work onsite in the Fairbanks/Northwest Crossing area of Houston.

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining desktops, and other information technology systems as required, ensuring they are efficient and reliable and that customers are pleased with the technical support service provided. This position is the liaison between internal employees and the IT staff.

Duties

  • Acts as first line of communication and support for all software, hardware, and telephone related issues.

  • Logs technical issues for helpdesk.

  • Assists end-users with creating Heat Ticket on desktop computer, and network related problems or escalates to appropriate IT staff where necessary.

  • Create ITC tickets for all Telephone issues. (Maintenance, Outage, etc.)

  • Notify internal maintenance dispatch on various issues.

  • Follow up on open Heat Tickets previously assigned and make inquiries on the unacknowledged and incomplete tickets within allowed time for each task.

  • Willing to learn and help with gathering information and maintaining inventory of equipment, etc.

  • Assists in support of user accounts including but not limited to audit, security, violation enforcement, tag store operations, and telephones.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.

  • Extensive experience in ApplicationXtender, importing various type of document/files and indexing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service orientation.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to select and provide appropriate information to others.

  • Ability to act as a spokesperson.

  • Ability to work as team member on group projects.

  • Knowledge of the principles of determining the source of the problem while on the phone with customers in regards to desktop, network systems, or applications

  • Knowledge of basic research techniques and applications using Google or Bing.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications software

  • Working knowledge of Application Generator/ApplicationXtender document manager.

  • Knowledge of Cherwell ticketing system

Minimum Qualification

  • High school diploma

  • College degree or Customer service certificate preferred but not required.

  • Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-to-year basis for the required college education.
