Assists users in resolving complex problems using all available technology, and acts as an internal consultant in specialized projects and products. Impacts systems support and troubleshooting for internal users throughout the department.


Assist department personnel in resolving hardware, software, and operating system or integration problems. Provide immediate assistance for routine requests and inquiries within a defined area of hardware and software product expertise. On a rotating basis, serves as lead technical support to a specific geographic area/zone, department or functional area, and provide the end-user instructions in handling routine requests.

New Equipment and System Upgrades: Install or upgrade hardware and software components on desktop computers and configure network printing, network directory structure rights and permissions on file servers.

Assist in forecasting equipment needs, be able to conduct technical research and write reports on findings for management. Evaluate new products and system upgrades. Recommend purchases, standards, and develop implementation plans.

Client Consultation: Act as a consultant to the client departments in the Division in analyzing and integrating workflow design, technical needs, and available resources to provide streamlined efficiencies. Will diagnose problems, evaluates optimum solutions and communicates the resolutions to the departments.


Required: Bachelor's degree

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.


Required: Two years’ experience with both telephone and on-site based delivery of mainframe, microcomputer and LAN support services including problem analysis/resolution and installation. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.


Required: None.

Preferred: Certification in Microsoft Office software.
