Brief Description

Newfield Exploration is seeking an eDiscovery focused Security Specialist to join our IT Security Team, this position will play a key role in implementing and optimizing the technology required for our security program. Qualified individuals must have a comprehensive understanding of the EDRM process and the ability to manage and execute workflows in a timely manner. The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.

Detailed Description

  • Partner with the legal team in developing and optimizing eDiscovery processes and tools, including managing document collection, review and production

  • Oversees and conducts computer-related investigations and special projects as requested

  • Conducts risk assessments and testing of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.

  • Collaborate with Systems Administrators to define appropriate dataset to be included in Analytic indices

  • Define solutions to exceptions that occur during the performance of technical work.

  • Utilize IT technical knowledge and expertise to define potential solutions to technical exceptions.

  • Perform data harvest on evidence using data collection tools

  • Work with Records team to collect data from electronic document management systems.

  • Ensures that information technology issues and administration is compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform all responsibilities in a forensically sound manner

  • Importing/Exporting Case Data from various tools

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, Business, or Engineering preferred, or additional equivalent experience considered

  • Minimum 4 years of experience across all aspects of EDRM

  • Having foundational experience with database analysis, data extraction, transformation and loading is required.

  • Knowledge of and experience using and applying data analytics and associated tools (e.g. Spotfire, Relativity, Exterro, Autonomy, OmniX, etc.) in investigations is highly desired.

  • CISSP or CISM Professional certification is preferred

Additional Details

  • Expertise in both server and personal computer operation and support

  • Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL)

  • Experience working with e-mail servers (O365, Exchange, Domino), e-mail archives (EV, IAP etc), content management systems (Sharepoint, Documentum, OpenText, FileNet etc), enterprise asset management (EAM) systems.

  • Working knowledge of networks and telecommunications and related security issues

  • Experience working with internal and external auditors

  • Highly motivated, self-starting individual. Able to multi-task and manage to timelines
